Blair Labatt III
Blair has a deep background in software development, having served as CIO for a $1B company for over ten years. During his tenure, he introduced Agile methodologies, modern software engineering tooling, and best-in-class software design practices. He also lead a variety of innovative projects, from using data science heuristics to minimize inventories while maximizing fill rates; to using combinatorial optimization techniques to minimize shipping expenses; to introducing an IoT platform for tracking vehicles; to introducing robotics into a warehouse environment; to creating a new e-commerce business unit that topped $50M in sales in five years. Now with Vesta Systems, Blair seeks to bring his skills to bear on an important social and environmental issue.
Sean Berg, Ph.D., P.E.
Sean is a licensed practicing professional engineer (TX) with prior professional experience at Toyota, GE, and SES/Engineering Consulting. While with GE, he spearheaded the development of a new, state-of-the-art HPHT drilling system ($400 million). He has been an Engineering Manager within the Global Engineering Analysis division at GE. He conducted extensive code and specification work with API/ASME SC’s. Sean’s specialization is in Materials Science with subject matter expertise and multiple publications in batteries and energy storage, advanced materials for energy applications, and electrochemistry. Sean is currently a Mechanical Engineering Professor at St. Mary’s University, in San Antonio, Texas.
